As a 35-year-old working mother of 3 boys under the age of 3 (yes, you read that correctly), I used to struggle to find the time to brush my hair never mind spend time doing my make-up. Now I constantly get complements on how great I look. My secret? Permanent Make Up!!!
After I had my first born, I was a mess! Some serious weight gain, really bad skin, a thick mop of unmanaged oily hair and some serious PND! I hated being pregnant but I hated the tiredness, guilt and everlasting exhaustion even more. I never had any time at all, ever! So making an effort to look good was not on the cards. Even when I went back to work, I had a quick shower in the morning tided my hair in bun and off I went. I had constant remaindered of how tired I looked, how motherhood wasn’t suiting me well etc. etc.
It was only after my son turned 1, that I realized I needed to make a change and more effort. I live by less is more. SO I put that into action. I started to watch beauty videos, follow some bloggers and then came across this new trend. MICROBLADING! WHAT??? Those eyebrows were on fleek and they were permanent! YAY!
And that is when the universe came into play and drew me back to an old friend who had opened up the Lash and Brow Bar and she was #1 in the field. What more could I ask for?
Since that day, I have never looked back, in fact I have only looked GREAT! I went on to have my top lid tattooed and I discovered the wonderful world of eyelash extensions. Now I spend 3 minutes – yes 3 minutes on my face in the morning. Cream, oil and foundation! That is, it.
Don’t believe me? I spent the day taking selfies and mini videos of what I look like without my makeup, my morning routine and with my make up!

Here is what The Lash and Brow Bar have to say about Permanent Makeup:
“Permanent Makeup is arguably the most positive and life-changing cosmetic treatment available within the beauty industry today. Permanent Makeup can help you regain confidence by restoring features lost or compromised due to the ravages of time or illness, making a real and positive life-changing difference to the way that you look and feel! Permanent Makeup closely imitates perfectly applied conventional makeup on the brows, eyes and lips, offering a great alternative to the tedious daily makeup application routine! Also known as Cosmetic Tattooing, Micro-Pigmentation and Permanent Cosmetics, Permanent Makeup involves the artistic implantation of the highest grade hypo-allergenic pigments into the dermal layer of the skin, creating a beautifully natural shape, colour and texture, resembling perfectly applied makeup… day or night! As permanent makeup has become increasingly popular all around the world, women are discovering they have more time and less stress as they do not have to worry about applying make-up. Emerging as an industry in the late 1970’s permanent makeup has rapidly grown over the last 10 years as a prominent part of the health and beauty industry being used by millions of women to improve their daily lives and self-esteem. When permanent make-up is done by a qualified technician it will enhance the existing natural features of the face. Standard procedures for Permanent make-up include enhancing or creating eyebrows, eyeliner, full lip coloring/lip liner. More recently paramedical cosmetic tattooing or paramedical permanent makeup has emerged as a highly specialized field. Permanent makeup can provide liberation from embarrassing scars, burns and skin imperfections by utilizing corrective pigment camouflaging. Breast cancer survivors that have had reconstructive surgery are often referred to technicians by plastic surgeons. Women who have had mastectomies can benefit by using permanent makeup to recreate an authentic areola, which gives colour and circle definition for the illusion of a natural breast. The Permanent cosmetics industry is constantly implementing the best and safest industry standard practices in all procedures done. Together with the professional permanent makeup artist’s manufactures and suppliers are always working on ensuring the best cosmetic pigments and sterilized tools are being used according to industry regulations.”
And this is what they have to say about having gorgeous lashes:
What are eyelash extensions?
There are many forms of extensions which can create the desired look a client is wanting. There are single strands (Synthetic, mink and silk) which are perfectly curled and designed to mimic a client’s natural lash. Eyelash extensions were designed to make an eye appear fuller and more luscious but most importantly to be comfortable and non-invasive for every day wear. Eyelash extensions are ideal for every day wear as well as special occasions.
What is the difference between classic and volume lashes?
Classic eyelash extensions are attached one at a time to the client’s natural lash. A volume lash extension is a much thinner lash which enables the technician to attach anything from 2-6 lashes per individual lash giving a client a much fuller and softer looking set of extensions.
Eyelash fills would be dependent on the client’s natural eyelash amount. Some clients have a lot of natural lashes whereas others don’t. Usually clients can expect to wait 2-3 weeks between fills.
